Ron Price is Curriculum Leader for Drama and Dance and Director of Teacher Training at The Emmbrook School in Wokingham, Berkshire. He is an Advanced Skills Teacher for Drama and an examiner/moderator for AQA A Level Drama and Theatre Studies.
Ron is co-author of 'AQA GCSE Drama' a pupil and teacher text book and an education advisor to The Royal National Theatre. When he has time he works as a professional theatre director with Scene Productions and usually has two show touring each year".
Emma Cairns– Course Tutor
Emma has been a teacher of Drama & Theatre Studies for 14 years at the Emmbrook School where she left her post of Head of Drama to spend time with her family. Emma is an accomplished director of theatre and has organised and taught a number of residential drama courses. Emma has particular interest in mask production and performance.
Apart from her birthday Ufton is her most favourite time of the year and usually the two coincide. Emma sings like an angel, dances like Darcy Bussell and can walk on her hands while cackling with her twisted sister.
Tara Elie-Siddiq - Course Tutor
Tara was previously a student on the summer school and completed all four courses. She did backflips when she was offered the post of tutor on the summer school. Tara worked as freelance drama youth worker in Berkshire and Middlesex for a year before qualifying as a drama teacher.
She has a wealth of experience in a variety of theatre and performance work. Tara even travelled to New Zealand to attend a Haka School to bring this back for one of the courses.
Peter Ging – Course Tutor
Peter is the current Head of Drama at The Emmbrook School. He is a previous Emmbrook and Summer School student and has been waiting patiently to jump at the chance to go back to Ufton!
Peter has a range of experience in theatre, both at undergraduate and postgraduate level and has a particularly strong interest in physical theatre.
Most people don’t know this, but Peter is a secret samurai warrior and can despatch his enemies in silence without visible movement.
Nicola Handyside - Course Tutor
As one of the original attendees of Tirabad, Nicola was infected at a young age by the Drama bug which careers in advertising, event management and property could not shake. Now teaching at Shiplake College, she brings a wealth of experience from working as a freelance workshop leader and Director at Putney Arts Theatre to courses with Theatre Complicite, Frantic Assembly, Trestle and Kneeghigh. On dark nights she can be found at the bottom of her garden practising her tortoise impression.
